History

Hösel - EMO

The HEMO GmbH was established in 2017 through the merger of the long-standing partner companies EMO Oberflächentechnik GmbH in Bretten-Gölshausen and Hösel GmbH in Ötisheim.

In the same year, a headquarters with spacious office and production areas was newly built for HEMO GmbH in Ötisheim.

Even before the merger, both companies were among the world’s leading manufacturers of parts cleaning systems for the use of solvents and for combined processes with solvents and aqueous media.

With the development of the patented VAIOCS process in 1995, the current state of the art for the safe use of flammable solvents at temperatures above their flashpoint was redefined. Until the expiration of the EMO patent in 2013, many well-known competitors had taken licenses for this process concept.

With the HYBRID technology, EMO and Hösel jointly took another groundbreaking development step. To solve particularly demanding cleaning tasks even better, solvents and aqueous media are used in separate consecutive cleaning steps in a shared treatment chamber.

As the most recent development to date, the BEYOND process was introduced in 2016, which utilizes solvent and aqueous medium not in separate steps, but as a mixture.

The very close collaboration between the two owner-managed medium-sized family businesses in the Surface Alliance (www.surface-alliance.com) and the joint financial participation in other Surface Alliance partner companies at home and abroad have been the prerequisites for successful market penetration even at the global level since the establishment of this corporate network in 1999.
